What a day! We recently brought Percona University to Bangkok for a vibrant gathering of database experts, open source enthusiasts, and curious minds from all over. The goal was simple: to create a space to connect, learn, and celebrate the power of open source databases. The energy was incredible, and the day was packed with inspiring talks, hands-on insights, and fantastic conversations.

What We Learned and Shared

The day was designed to empower professionals and students alike, offering something for everyone, no matter their background. The event was a huge success, focusing on four key pillars:

Peter Farkas (CEO at Percona) captivated the audience with his session exploring how Enterprises are playing dirty.

Sergey Pronin (CEO at Solanica) explained The Death of the Third Pedal: Why Your Database Platform Should Drive Itself.

Alkin Tezuysal (Director of Services at Altinity) shared cutting-edge insights on Powering AI-Ready MySQL: When MyVector Meets ProxySQL.

Charly Batista (President of the Brazilian PostgreSQL Association) broke down The High Cost of Persistence: Scaling Database Performance by Decoupling Connections.

We also had fantastic deep-dive sessions from experts at Percona, including Bhargav Kamineni, Jericho Rivera, Arunjith Aravindan, Bhuvanes Waran, and Jaime Sicam. They covered everything from PostgreSQL major version upgrades and MySQL lifecycle realities to Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM) and Single Sign-On with Kerberos.
